Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s next innovation is coming this year in the form of CarPlay for car infotainment systems. Simply, it is an iOS in the Car iPhone incorporation system. The system works with iOS 7 and because of their Lightning connectivity, only iPhone 5 and above models of phone is compatible up to now.
Just like Siri, CarPlay gives users voice commands through speaking text messages, accessing their music library and responding to incoming calls. Apple’s Maps service is also included in the system. Beats Radio, iHeartRadio, iTunes Radio, Spotify, Stitcher and other third-party music streaming apps are accessible through CarPlay.
This week at the Geneva Motor Show, automakers including Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Ferrari will launch cars having CarPaly. In future, General Motors, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan, Peugeot, BMW will also incorporate this system. In second news, there is speculation that Apple and Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) are planning to have a partnership for a Siri voice interface and the in-car infotainment system. Tim Cook also announced last year that iOS will be incorporated in cars in 2014. At the same time, for Apple’s up-market brand and quality based strategy, Tesla seems totally compatible. These two tech giants are some of the world’s largest battery customers in the world as well.
Tesla deals with manufacturing of small lithium-ion batteries for electric cars. And now the company is facing limitations in its battery assembly. However, Company’s CEO is planning major upgrading of its manufacturing unit. Now there is objective that the plant’s capability will be elevated what the whole world manufactured in 2013 by the end of 2020.
Over the past year and a half, Apple has acquired about 23 companies in the technology sector with exclusive copyrights. The design and consumption of A/V content is under Apple’s hardware and software solutions.
