Apple Inc (NASDAQ AAPL) plans to begin live streaming from its big event starting at 10 a.m. Pacific (1 p.m. Eastern) on Sept. 9. The company made the announcement on its website. Of course Apple isn’t saying exactly what it will show off at the event, but it is widely expected to be the iPhone 6 and perhaps one or two other goodies.
Anyone who wants to see the iPhone 6 as it’s unveiled on Sept. 9 will be able to watch. In typical Apple fashion, the company is keeping very quiet about what’s in store for the Sept. 9 event. The company has been observed to be setting up a massive structure that’s obscured by a big white wall outside at the Flint Center in Cupertino, Calif. where the event will be held.
The venue is not Apple’s typical venue, as the company usually uses the theater on its Cupertino headquarters campus or the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Apple Inc (NASDAQ AAPL): iPhone 6
There have been rumors that the popular rock band U2 might be performing at the iPhone 6 unveiling next week. Some said that the band would be releasing its album on the iPhone as well. However, it turns out that the rumors aren’t true, as a spokesperson for U2 dispelled both of them.
Rumors about the iPhone 6 are going to keep running hot and heavy ahead of next week’s event. Apple is widely expected to unveil two new iPhone models, a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch model. However, the rumor-mongers seem less sure about whether both models will go on sale at the same time or whether there will be a staggered launch, with the 5.5-inch model being available for purchase later.
