Apple (NASDAQ AAPL) is currently having a hard time, legally speaking. Recently, two men in Florida filed a lawsuit against Apple, saying that Apple is not providing the amount of storage space which they claim to provide. This leads to a customers opting for iCloud services, which is a paid one. Apple refused to comment on the matter.
In this post, we will take a look at this legal problem which Apple currently faces. The whole matter is debatable and both sides seemingly have some pretty valid points. This is not the first time Apple is facing such a lawsuit. Back in 2012, Apple faced a similar lawsuit which was dismissed by the court.
This time round, the people who have filed the lawsuit claim that Apple is actually benefiting by providing lesser storage space. They claim that by providing lesser than intended space, they make the users use iCloud which charges for each GB of space used. Although iCloud does have a 5 GB free limit, there have been claims that more storage space is required for each user.
Apple Inc (NASDAQ AAPL): Apple having Legal Issues
Many Apple users believe that in the new iPhone 6 there is indeed an issue of small storage. People have been complaining about the fact that iOS 8, which happens to be a rather heavy OS, is actually taking up a lot of storage space of iPhone. They believe that with the high quality pictures and videos, they have a less storage space available for themselves.
Some claims that OS space should always be accounted by the users. Also, there is the fact that iCloud provides 5 GB free space, which more than offsets the loss in storage.
