News about Microsoft’s plans to acquire an email startup had been making rounds for some time now. According to Microsoft, they are making plans to purchase the company in which they see a lot of value.

Acompli is an email service which is available on Android and iOS. With Microsoft focusing more on cross platform technologies and cloud based applications, this move comes in as no surprise. Such acquisition would help Microsoft support all kinds of Email services and add new ones too.

Acompli would continue to support its currently used products. The CEO of Acompli, Javier Soltero, said that new updates and features can be expected from this merge in every two-three weeks. Outlook president, Rajesh Jha, was also very positive about the news and said that he is excited about the various possibilities which could emerge from such a partnership.

With Acompli previously working on the desktop version of Outlook, Acompli would also find integration to be a comparatively easier task.
