Up till now, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) was expected to launch its much-awaited iPhone 6 in September, but a new report suggests that fans might have to wait till October for their favorite device. Citing an internal Apple retail store meeting, a report from MacRumors claims that the next-generation iPhone will hit the markets on October 14.
Apple fans waiting for their favorite iPhone may have to wait a month longer as a new report claims a launch of iPhone 6 in October. As per the report, a senior store leader pointed October 14 as an important day for Apple, and suggested that October would be a busy month for the company, as well as, for the retail stores.
Though Apple would debut the iPhone in October, the device would be unveiled at an event scheduled for September 16, according to the source. There was no mention in the report, if Apple would come up with 4.7-inch iPhone 6 in October or the bigger version, or both. Previously, the reports have indicated that that the 5.5-inch phablet could be delayed till the end of the month or next year owing to the production issues.
Apple Inc (NASDAQ AAPL): iPhone 6
Historically, the Cupertino-based company has been showcasing the new iPhone in September and the launch in next few days. This strategy from the iPhone maker helped it to boost results for the quarter ended September by including the sales of the new iPhone. So, if Apple launches the iPhone 6 in October, then it might not be able to push its fiscal fourth-quarter results.
Also, launching the iPhone on October 14 i.e. Tuesday will be a deviation from its trend of introducing the device on Friday, so as to benefit from the weekend sales. However, the report says that Apple plans to launch the phone early in the week instead of waiting for Friday, due to the massive demand of the device and sufficient supply owing to increased production.
