The cost for the program, which is being run in a partnership with start-up e-book subscription service Librify, is $8.99 a month. Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT) has already begun testing the program and plans to roll out the Librify service later this year, according to a report at USA Today. Subscribers receive “access” to a recommended book every month plus discounts of 10% to 20% on all other e-books in Librify’s library of 500,000 e-books. That is about half the number of e-books available through Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) for its Kindle reader.
