While the 2014 soccer World Cup ends Sunday with a marquee match-up, Argentina against Germany, and host Brazil rushing to be ready for an even bigger logistical challenge: the 2016 Olympics, the NASCAR Sprint Cup goes on with the Sprint Cup Camping World RV Sales 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Brian Vickers (No. 55) won on this one-mile oval last July and is coming off a season-best runner-up finish at Daytona. Matt Kenseth (No. 20) won here last fall, with Vickers seventh. The last 12 races at New Hampshire Motor Speedway have produced 12 different winners. Kyle Busch made the argument for 13 in 13 consecutive races as he will start on the pole Sunday in the Camping World RV Sales 301.

NASCAR Sprint Cup 2014 Series Video
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is the sport’s highest level of professional competition. It is consequently the most popular and most profitable NASCAR series. Since 2001, the Sprint Cup season has consisted of 36 races over 10 months. Writers and fans often use “Cup” to refer to the Sprint Cup series and the ambiguous use of “NASCAR” as a synonym for the Sprint Cup Series is common. The 2013 Sprint Cup Series Champion is Jimmie Johnson, who also won 5 consecutive Sprint Cup Series drivers’ championships from 2006–2010. Previously, the most consecutive championships had been three in a row by Cale Yarborough in the late 1970s, the only other time when a driver has won three or more Sprint Cup championships in a row.
Coming off the wild and wet weekend in Daytona, it’s off to New England for Sunday’s Camping World RV Sales 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Typically at New Hampshire, fuel mileage and track position are key, and this weekend should be no exception. Already this weekend, we’ve seen multiple tire issues in practice, so keeping the left rear tire under the car also will be a key to success.
